Project Description

This design-only project reimagined a dated primary bedroom into a richly layered, vintage-inspired retreat—balancing the client’s love of bold, bohemian color with the architectural character of the existing home.

The concept drew from the client’s inspiration images featuring lush greens, deep reds, and gold accents, translating their maximalist vision into a cohesive and approachable design plan. Sherwin-Williams Jasper Stone (SW 9133) provides a moody, grounding backdrop, framing a statement mural and coordinating millwork that lend the room an air of collected sophistication.

Existing elements—including the wall-to-wall carpet, detailed plaster moulding, and faux leather bench—were incorporated seamlessly into the new plan to maintain the room’s architectural integrity and stay within the design-only scope. A curated mix of furniture and finishes—including coral velvet drapery, botanical art, sculptural lighting, and warm wood—adds contrast and texture, while still complementing what remained.

The final design celebrates a balance of artistry and restraint, capturing the romantic, storied feel of a European-inspired bedroom without overwhelming the space.
